YouTube + Maps in the main CarView app — no Duoscreen needed

Show YouTube and Google Maps web side by side inside the main CarView app. This is intended for displays with limited height, so you can split the view without using Duoscreen.

Drag to adjust the panel width or swap sides.

This feature is still being improved. Search, location and display behavior may not yet be convenient on every screen. We will continue updating it based on your feedback.

Turn instructions inside CarView

In YouTube + Maps, choose a destination and tap Navigate. Google Maps on your phone handles navigation and spoken directions; CarView displays the turn instructions in the car.

For the first setup, open Settings → Google Maps navigation and grant the requested permissions on your phone.

Send a location from your phone to CarView

In Google Maps on your phone, choose Share → CarView to send a place or route to YouTube + Maps in the car.

Move the speed bubble onto Maps

In YouTube + Maps, you can drag the speed bubble across both panels to place it where you prefer.

Easier video selection with a D-pad or rotary controller

Improved YouTube video selection using the car’s directional keys or rotary controller. The selected video is clearly highlighted; press confirm to open and play it.

Improved voice search in Duo

A microphone button makes searching quicker when using Duo on your phone.

Fixed autoplay of the first search result: when enabled, the first video opens automatically; when disabled, the results remain available for you to choose.

Skip tracks within the playlist

Prefer the next video in the playlist you are listening to, reducing jumps to recommendations. When no suitable playlist is available, CarView skips tracks as usual.

Off by default. Change it in Settings → Video playback → Prefer playlist when skipping tracks.

Open CarView during a temporary loss of connection

After activation, you can still open CarView without a connection for up to 24 hours after the last successful activation check. Reconnect to the Internet after that.

Watching YouTube videos still requires an Internet connection.

Automatic video fullscreen in Duo

Videos fill the CarView panel automatically, without first enabling fullscreen on your phone. Adjacent map panels stay visible.

Change it in Settings → Car display → Automatically open video fullscreen in the car.

DuoFullscreen is now named CVA FullDuo

The DuoFullscreen icon in the car is now called CVA FullDuo to make it easier to identify. Its operation and saved settings stay the same.

Hide car apps you do not use

The new Car apps section is in Settings, directly after Language.

Show or hide CarView AA, CVA Fullscreen, CVA Duoscreen and CVA FullDuo individually. An Open Android Auto button takes you to its settings.

If an icon has not changed, disconnect and reconnect Android Auto.

Keep Duo on your phone and in the car in sync

Enabling CVA Duoscreen or CVA FullDuo shows Duo on your phone.

Disabling both hides Duo on your phone and stops the current Duo session. The layout and connection settings are kept for the next time you enable it.

Improved phone screen-off controls

Improved the Turn off phone screen button when using Duo in Advanced mode.

Connection setup now includes shortcuts to notification and battery optimization settings.

A Ford audio compatibility option

An option to help with audio loss when YouTube switches to or from advertisements. It is off by default; enable it only if needed.

Open Settings → Audio → Ford audio compatibility.

Check for updates inside the app

Open Settings → Check for CarView updates to check and get an update link using your activated email. Checks are quicker and tell you when you are already using the latest version.

When opening Google Play, use the Google account matching your activated email.

If download access is not visible yet, wait 30 minutes–1 hour after access is granted, then try again.

Support, community and referrals

Settings now includes links to Telegram support, the Facebook community, the website and your friend-referral page. The Vietnamese interface also includes the Zalo update group.
